From Stuck to Strong—Together
Practical tools for communication, conflict, and closeness.
Who I Help
I work with couples at every stage—dating, cohabiting, engaged, married, or parenting together. Whether you’re in crisis or just feeling stuck, we’ll focus on strengthening your bond, navigating conflict, and building a relationship that lasts.
What We’ll Work On
Communicate effectively so both partners feel heard and understood
Handle conflict in healthier ways that reduce tension and rebuild trust
Repair ruptures and restore emotional safety after arguments or distance
Reconnect emotionally and physically, deepening intimacy and closeness
Break negative cycles and create new patterns that support long-term growth
My Approach to Couples Counseling
My style is insightful, solution-focused, and direct—balanced with warmth and compassion. I won’t just nod; we’ll work on practical tools you can use right away. I integrate evidence-based methods (Gottman-informed, attachment-based, CBT/ACT skills) to help you:
Identify unhelpful patterns
Practice new communication & conflict-resolution skills
Make meaningful, lasting changes
What to Expect
Session length: 50 minutes (longer/intensive sessions available)
Frequency: Weekly or biweekly to start; we’ll adjust as progress builds
Format: We’ll begin with a joint session to understand your history, strengths, and goals. Then I’ll meet with each partner individually for one session to gain deeper insight. After that, we reconvene together to align on a plan and begin focused skill-building. Individual meetings help me understand each person’s perspective.
Between-session practice: Simple exercises to reinforce skills
Is Couples Therapy Right for Us?
Consider starting if you’re experiencing:
Recurring arguments, stonewalling, or emotional distance
Mismatch in desire, intimacy, or affection
Life transitions (engagement, new baby, blending families, career changes)
Trust injuries or unresolved resentments
One or both of us shuts down during tough talks.
Communication that turns tense—even about small things
We want change but don’t know where to start.
Neurodiversity & ADHD in Relationships
Many couples navigate differences in attention, processing, and sensory needs. If you or your partner is neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, or learning differences), relationships can face unique stressors—missed cues, time blindness, overwhelm, or shame cycles—but also unique strengths like creativity, loyalty, and deep focus. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming: we’ll work with your brains, not against them.
In therapy, we will:
Understand patterns without blame—externalize ADHD/ND traits so the problem is the pattern, not the person
Build communication scripts and repair tools for hot moments (e.g., pause cues, time-outs, “do-over” language)
Create sensory- and executive-function-friendly systems (shared calendars, visual cues, task handoffs, routines)
Address RSD (rejection sensitivity) and shame with strategies that preserve connection
Plan conflict pacing (shorter talks, breaks, summaries) to prevent overwhelm and shutdown
Strengthen intimacy and play—structured check-ins, appreciation rituals, and “attention anchors” that make closeness easier day-to-day
If relevant, I can also integrate tools that support organization, transitions, and follow-through—so both partners feel seen, supported, and on the same team. This is ADHD-informed couples counseling focused on practical changes that reduce friction and increase connection.
Parenting & Co-Parenting Support
Parenting brings joy—and stress. Many couples struggle with different parenting styles, discipline, routines, and roles. In counseling, we will:
Create a shared, consistent approach to parenting
Reduce conflict around discipline, routines, and expectations
Strengthen teamwork so parenting feels like a partnership
Maintain your connection as a couple while raising children
Special education background: I support families of children with learning differences or developmental needs and am familiar with IEPs and 504 Plans. We’ll stay united as partners while advocating for your child and navigating school systems.
When parents work together, children feel more secure—and couples feel more connected.
